Seclore File owner

Owner in the Seclore context refers to the designated control authority assigned to a protected file at the time of protection. This role is part of the DRM framework and governs how access to the protected document is managed.

The Owner is distinct from the document’s original author or content creator. While the author may have created the document, the Seclore Owner represents the identity under which the file is protected and may have elevated rights such as modifying permissions of the recipients or managing redistribution.

The Owner can be:

• A real user who is responsible for managing access to the document, or
• A service account (commonly used in Policy Federation scenarios), where access control decisions are managed dynamically by the integrating system through APIs.
